Unit Conversions (Time)

Unlike the metric system, time uses different conversion factors:

$1 \text{ minute} = 60 \text{ seconds}$
$1 \text{ hour} = 60 \text{ minutes} = 3600 \text{ seconds}$
$1 \text{ day} = 24 \text{ hours}$
$1 \text{ week} = 7 \text{ days}$

The same rule applies: to go from a larger unit to a smaller unit, multiply. To go from a smaller unit to a larger unit, divide.

Be careful with remainders. For example, 130 minutes is not 2.1667 hours in everyday language; it is 2 hours and 10 minutes.
